Roger Deakins has earned his 14th Best Cinematography Oscar nomination with Blade Runner 2049, the most Cinematography nominations without a win–ever. Deakins has shot 11 movies for the Coen brothers, and also shot Sid and Nancy (1986), 1984 (1984), Dead Man Walking (1995), A Beautiful Mind (2001), The Village (2004), Jarhead (2005) and more.
Rachel Morrison is the first woman ever nominated for the Best Cinematography Oscar in 90 years of Academy Awards history.
Rachel, who also shot Fruitville Station (2013), Dope (2015), and the upcoming Marvel banger Black Panther (2018), was nominated for the highly-acclaimed Netflix film Mudbound (2017) directed by Dee Rees. Mudbound received 3 more Oscar nominations:
